High end pc, poor performance

Recommended Posts

Qwertyedd    11

Well got my new gaming pc the other day and have been playing bf1 on it. Even though my gaming pc is "made to play bf1 on ultra settings" the games seems poor

all graphic settings in game are set to high/ultra

however when I aim around fast objects close to be have a blurry to them or seems fuzzy and patchy. Also if I look st s object and aim left or right its shows up purple blurs and a aim

hope that makes sense lol just wondering if anyone has any ideas?

also I'm getting good fps so that's no worries

im new to pc gaming I

Do you have motion blur enabled?  I would also go into the Video settings and try to change the settings manually to fit your liking. If you just did AUTO to ULTRA, it will add some graphic settings that make the game look more realistic, but imo a lot harder to play.

Good program to capture video?

Couple of questions.

is dx12 worth it? Or shall I disable?

also should I limited fps to monitor refresh rate or max it out?

just downloaded fraps for video

Well it's hard to tell if both ping and FPS (over 100) are good, and ping @ 30 is good enough!

Yup, try out fraps :)

Maybe or maybe not ;)

Anyways, the PC should run just fine with your specs even though it's not a high end system, more a mid end.. Add a fast SSD and a couple of 1080Ti cards and you have a high end system :P

Playing on 60hz doesn't help either, but your PC isn't THAT high-end. It's good, but not ''the best''. It's kinda similar to my PC (i7-2600k and GTX 970) and I sure as hell can't run BF1 on Ultra High and still get 120+ FPS.

Perhaps a new monitor would help anyway, 60hz is truly awful to play FPS on. 120, 144 or 240hz would be much better and smoother.

Also make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card etc. Can't hurt!

I have 2x970 cards in Sli running on a 27" 144mhz G-sync monitor and run everything on ultra/high without a problem in BF1 :)

Wouldn't say your PC and his are similar at all.

If his is not high end, yours is low-mid end at best..

1060 is only a 11% better than the 970. The CPU is 22% faster. Not a HUGE difference which would result in 50FPS more or something. (The GPU scores 3 FPS higher than mine in BF1 benchmarks) Just saying that if I can't expect ultra-high to be playable, he probably can't either, if its only a little bit better than mine. I know mine definitely isn't high end, it is like 6 years old expect for the GPU which was replaced 1,5 year ago. The main point was: 60hz sucks hard.

Yeah, you're probably right, the difference is not huge.

For reference, I've been playing DOOM in 1080p 100-120 fps on ultra with 6700k and gtx 1060 6gb.

Anyways, his problem is certainly not the specs, and it doesn't help that he doesn't provide too much info. (probably also hard because he's new to PC gaming)

Doom is an anomaly in modern day gaming. It's fantastically well optimised!
