Honestly in the past few years whenever a dev said they were "going back to their roots" with their next title, it turned out to be shit, so that alone is enough for me to not buy the new CoD, this year i bought AW just to play the remastered and it was worse than the original for everything except the graphics, so if they can fuck up something they have already done in the past pretty well how am i supposed to trust the next game, which I don't know almost anything about, except it being set in WW2, is going to be any better? I can even tolerate the microtransaction bullshit and the casual/lamer features they add for kids to some degree, but since I'm 90% sure the netcode is still going to be bad and the pc port an half mess with no support for modding there is really no reason to give 60€ to a company which doesn't care at all about its fanbase.

Just my 2 cents

The PC community hates COD in general so I don't expect it to be a big hit over here anyway. The console community will thrive and all the power to them.

"Honestly in the past few years whenever a dev said they were "going back to their roots" with their next title", tell me more about this because I've never heard a dev team say this or even try it. Within the last 8+ years of gaming for me anyway lol..

The remastered version was complete shit because it was rushed for the simple fact that Activision knew that the main game was going to be a flop. They knew 70% of the community hates the future shit so they threw in a quick remaster to bump the sales of an already shit primary game. Kinda pisses me off how they would ruin a remastered version of the best COD that was created because they just rushed it to make up for there original fail.

It happens most times when a studio is about to release a sequel to some already established franchise, the latest examples i can think of are Dead Rising 4, which is nothing like the first if not for the MC and Halo 5. Anyway for me the biggest problem with CoD is the netcode, it is not acceptable for AAA title which is selling milions copies every year to have a tickrate lower than a game like Bf1, where there is way more stuff going on and what's worse is that they don't seem to care about it, many times on the cod subreddit i saw a dev answering to some thread where people were talking about it, showing even Battle(non)sense videos as proofs and this was the answer "There is wide a range of connection speeds these days and we're balancing what works best for all the variables."

Like are you serious?

100% agree with you here, @Zane. although the recent CoD WWII gameplay has me interested in buying i'm still waiting until the game comes out and judge it then. if it's like CoD4 remastered with a tickrate of 10hz i know that would absolutely piss me off and i won't buy it.

Well, what can I say? After more investigating I'm actually stunned, this new "Call of Duty WWII" has created a modern version of our "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory" gameplay and they've made a very good job of it too.

Here's the actual in-game footage, from a "Wolfenstein" perspective, posted by the one and only Yo$hik from our "RtCW" community.

What you will see:

1] Attack and capture the command post so you can spawn there.

2] Build the 2-part bridge, (just like Wolf: ET Fueldump), get your tank across it.

3] Escort the tank to the Axis ammo supply.

4] Attack the supply depot, breaching either of the two depot gates, plant dynamite and destroy it. (the Axis troops can rebuild the gates, check the footage of the left-hand side gate at the 6:35 mark)

5] Escort the tank to the 88 Flak Cannons and destroy them.

In this video the Allies win

The only thing I never saw included were landmines, but I can't say for sure that they're not actually in the game, we'll have to wait and see. After 14 years of waiting, our game, "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory", has finally been remade.

i'll be buying this game. i'm with you @WolfEnstein, what i've seen excites me to play CoD for the first time in years. the bridge building thing is not about the actual mechanics of building the bridge, it's about the gameplay that situation will create around it.

Yep, objective-based teamplay ftw :) .

I swear, the guy who narrates the first section of this video sounds just like the guy on Battlezone 1's first mission introduction, listen yourself:

The nostalgia hit me REAL! This game is from 1998!

none of this info matters because cod has been done with pc for a long time now. No matter what era its in the game gets made for consoles and ported to PC and the game can be hardly called a game with no dedi servers, crappy match making and hardly any commands that let you adjust your settings.  Its sad and unfortunate that the pc community has been so blacklisted when we were the ones that started this entire franchise.

CSGO series is thriving from skins and the E sport market when activision could of easily out done them with the funding and man power they have, the cod 4 promod had all the makings of a great competitive game that could of been thriving today, and yes with skins and all that other stuff being integrated.

Such a great game turned into 12 year old console thumb stick fps game.

Dont waste your money folks expecting anything remotely close to good ole cod4 days and before.

exactly, without proper PC features such as mod tools or hell even things as simple as dedi servers, there is simply no hope for that game. People keep buying all these cods and then they never play them again because they are just not meant to be played on PC. Im very sad and disappointed because activation could of easily made a competitive cod, i mean hell, E sports is huge, yet they cant get passed the 13 year old cod vision still, thats like 5 years behind already.

Community modding and mapping is the "lifeblood" that any game, aiming for longevity, needs to have.

yeah its pretty bad, but its been bad for a long time now, most people dont understand quality because of when they started playing the franchise. If you started playing the franchise before cod4 and maybe before black ops, you really would not understand quality cod games because all you know are console ports and hardcore mode with 1/2 shot insta kill with any lazerbeam weapon they have.

If you are someone who supported this franchise early on like cod1-cod4 then you are poking your eyes out when you hear comments like "well this last modern warfare 25 wasnt so bad, it had dog killstreaks" like makes me want to vomit.

The beautiful days of not playing on a console port, and having mod tools/ACTUAL DEDI SERVERS are too much to ask now when the player base has settled on accepting horse manure with open arms and happy faces, the quality is simply not there because it does not have to be.

This last cod is no different, just re skinned, and put in a ww2 era to accommodate all those who are tired of boost jumping like its quake or something.

Just sitting here counting the seconds for battalion and praying that the devs will be able to market this game so that it fills that void between cs competitive and cod competitive.

Would love to see this in bat44 as a game mode. But think it will be a classic s&d mode.

Never played ET, but always loved to watch that game mode on competitive streams😍
