Yep, just a glorified trailer, not that impressing. Waiting on spec requirements, server options, game modes, perk/rank/dlc and game play videos before I say anything more...

wonder what you will be able to there, its the social area they talked about could be a cool addition to the game.

I don't like the idea though that they made the closed Beta for consoles only, lets hope the pc game won't be just a poorly executed console port again.

So much time has passed since we had a proper WW2 single player game and I really hope they get it right.

You know what hyped me the most? No health regeneration! The single campaing will only gain a lot with it.

I wonder how they will implement this in multiplayer. I am very intrigued.

there's no PC beta primarily for 3 reasons;

-it's a crappy console port

-it would be hacked and data mined within 10 minutes (even though it will be hacked on console anyway within 20 minutes) the black-ops 3 beta was hacked on console on the first day.

-console is where the $$$ are

The only thing that can stop COD now is Battlefield 1944, with DICE bringing back BC1/BC2 destruction online.

Personally, I don't normally do this but I'm buying the expensive steelbook pro version of COD WWII... I haven't even bought a regular edition COD since 2011.

Except if they are abusing of cinematic things. 9_9 It is so boring to wait front of your screen to be able to play.

2017 is not released yet than you are thinking about the next !! lool
More serioulsy : I bet there will be map tool avalaible from the start AND dedicated servers. (keep this line in memory and "rendez-vous" next year !! :P )

You know the CoD games only last for a year now :P

lol

When the year is over the community once again split up between cod 2017 and cod 2018

The Call of Duty franchise lost the plot some years ago, when they dropped dedicated servers and correctly scripted PC games, it is all about lots of money at the expense of Gamers like myself and my gaming clan.  Again the PC Gamer is placed third in the queue and not even being considered for the Beta as mentioned previously on these forums with a third party review as below.

The new Call of Duty WW2 beta will be available on PS4 and Xbox One for a minimum of three days, giving it the best chance to have the largest impact.

While not confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, the current install base rates for each platform will give Activision the chance of having the most successful COD beta ever.

I have wasted good money on CoD games recently that were poor ported console games without dedicated servers, which is why so many of us have backed Bulkhead and Battalion 1944.

I would leave this game to the consoles.

I find CoD good if you are interested in a singleplayer, some of their stories are kinda interesting and it can be a nice experience. But do I think it's worth of 60€? For a 4-6 hours of gameplay? Hell no.

But I find it so mind-blowing when people buy it for a MP. It's the same game year after year. I mean, look at the old CoD titles. CoD1,2,4,5,6, idk how someone else feels about them, but they felt kinda like a new experience to me compared to each other. These titles had a heart and a loving community but after that, it just lost its charm and started dying year after year. Developers / Activision don't seem to care. Somewhere around the time of firing the West and Zampella from Infinity Ward (and moving most of IW employees to Respawn Entertainment), something else had to happen since from that moment on it just went to hell. Honestly to me, only Treyarch did quite decent work on BO series and I enjoyed it for a little while.

I guess a lot of people were excited for a CoD4 Remastered but they failed on that completely. Nowhere is the option to implement some mods (promod anyone?) like in the old CoD4, replay system?, dedicated servers?, they changed good old sounds with something so awful and much more ... they just released a limited version with HD textures. And they didn't make it so you can buy it separately, no ... you had to buy it with IW (because it would kill their sales). What a joke.

Back in the day, I used to be a CoD fan and was really looking forward the future of this series but it's long time gone.

This is just my opinion, I am not trying to offend anyone. If you are excited about the new CoD, good for you. It's great that after so many years they somehow managed to find out about the community's interest in the game from WW. I just don't have a single reason to believe in anything CoD related atm after so much disappointment.

"We have to push through enemy territory......escort the tank.......destroy the 88's!". Very clever video montage, very "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory" too, but I won't "hold my breathe" in expectation  .

Are you deaf and blind, Zeak? I don't think so, maybe you're just a little unobservant :) ? Watch the part of the video from the 1:45 mark, hear what he says, "we have to push through enemy territory...", watch what comes next and hear him say something along the lines of, "escort the tank and protect it..." watch them plant the dynamite at the 88's and so on.

So, let's recap, shall we, Zeak? Enemy territory is mentioned, you then see the Allies escort their tank, which has to be protected, they then plant dynamite at the 88 Flak Cannons. Hmmm, well now, I wonder what made me think about the gameplay of "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory" in that video 9_9 ?

Soooo... I was actually very interested, but it seems like it's still the same lame ol' shit, hmm?

I honestly hoped CoD went back to their "roots" like they said themselves, but I guess they only meant that they were going back to World War II.
I can feel the reviews coming in at november:

Quote

IGN: Wow! I feel like a kid again! 9.7/10

Gamespot: Call of Duty is BACK! 9/10

Eurogamer: This game is THE SHIT! Oh, wait. I mean... We didn't want to type 'the', but nevermind... They paid us, so it's a very good game then. 9.5/10

Worth a Buy: WHAT THE *BEEP* IS THIS BULLSHIT?!?! *DING DING DING DING* 2/10 (This is an hilarious reviewer btw. Check his Infinite Warfare review. *click here to go to the video*)

...

Oh, and PS:
They're still using the exact same engine? *laughs* The multiplayer trailer looked pretty decent in my opinion. But seriously... This video... What the eff?

Hey, Sledgehammer! Two thousand and friggin' five called. Call of Duty 2 is laughing with your asses through the phone. Lazy devs. Get outta here.

Thank God for people like Bulkhead Interactive.

honestly, to me, the gameplay looks pretty damn good. setting aside my instinctive impulse to bash CoD because it's what you do with CoD these days - with good reason i might add, the sounds, visuals and objective mission structure looks on point. based on what i've seen up to now, i'll be buying this game. i'm with you @WolfEnstein, what i've seen excites me to play CoD for the first time in years. the bridge building thing is not about the actual mechanics of building the bridge, it's about the gameplay that situation will create around it. why though is there a female US soldier? that's dumb. they go for immersion and authenticity and then go and do that. makes no sense.

Same engine but its funny because it still looks better then then about 85% of games that are made on Unreal xD

I stated about 3 months ago that when they say back to there roots they were meaning back too the COD4/CODWAW days not COD2 but noooo nobody agreed, well look what we have! <3

They stated in the Q&A today that the single player will have swastikas and such to keep it historically accurate but the multiplayer will not due to obvious reasons from other countries and there laws so female soldiers will only exist in the French Resistance in SP but MP is an open book for creativity.

The gameplay is fluid and graphics are very nice, but i missunderstood their back to it's roots too..

Bar reticle crosshair, silenced mp40 and thompson? What is this Springfield magazine? Also, who reloads the bolt rifle so fast? Their divisions are amazingly skilled i see..

I knew that it's COD and they are doing games in very similar way this days, but deep in my heart i counted for something else. I will give it a change in open beta (if it delivers) though.
