Spawn protection

Recommended Posts

I'm sure they'll make sure the spawns aren't that broken where you can be shot within a few seconds anyway, the lads know what they're doing :)

The idea is to have spawns that aren't broken yes^ however in arena shooters if for instance the server admin overloads the server with say 25 players (which is their decision) then yes you'll see spawn issues, but if you play the game as a 4v4/5v5/6v6 game you won't see any issues with spawns ideally.

As a  CTF player im highly interested in this. Cus in Cod2/5 CTF one of the "skills" was to sorta spawntrap the other team. You knew where they would spawn if you would take the flag via route X or route B. And if your players moved to far in the direction you would f up the spawntrap giving you less time to score several flags. It was a really nice and thin line to balance your game around. I also send you a PM about this, but that was prior to me seeing this topic.

It also depends on the game mode.

spawn issues are only relevant in ffa and deathmatch, not so much in S&D as you just spawn as a team on the designated spot.

Yep, I have to agree, good spawn protection is vital in all FPS games.

Good spawn points are vital, protection is NOT.

We can agree to disagree, m8 ;).

Vital is something that the game cannot be played without.

If players spawn in completely different sides of the map , what purpose does the protection serve? Or would you rather have a game in which all players spawn in the same point on the map and you give them 1 minute protection?

Spawn protection is bad.

If it's going to be added please make it a toggle option for the server admin or a mod as someone mentioned above.
