    RIP the official forum?

After an absence of a couple of months I came here to see what people thought about Battalion 1944. Sadly it seems like this forum is clinging on for dear life. Anyone still here? If the answer is yes, what are your thoughts on Battalion 1944 in it's current state and the future of the game? What did you think about the Blitzkrieg Masters?

    RIP the official forum?

Aren't you worried? Even after every update(improvement) the player base gets smaller and smaller. I feel like even if Battalion is amazing at full release, people still won't give it a chance. But I'm going to wait until MU3 or full release before I give it one last try. I'm glad to see you're happy with the direction Battalion is heading. I'm more on the worried/less optimistic side. Not because I don't believe Bulkhead can make an amazing game for full release, but it feels a little too late. Even after every update(improvement) the player base gets smaller and smaller. And when they started their Kickstarter project, a WW2 game was farely unique, but now every developer is making a WW2 game. But I hope they prove me wrong.

Games not yet dead guys.. Let's talk about it!

Yes, it's normal. Always happens after an update. What I really want to know is what the playerbase will be like in a week, a month and even a year from now. Will they regain the trust from the customer or will Battalion fail? I don't think they care about casuals (yet). The lans are just a way to keep the competitive scene happy.

Games not yet dead guys.. Let's talk about it!

I'm fed up with Bulkhead. Some Kickstart backers are still waiting for their rewards, casual players still have to wait for months and people who invested because they wanted to play a console version are completely screwed... Instead of hiring extra people to focus on the casual side, they waste their money on a 50.000 euro lan. It's a disgrace.

    Physical kickstarter rewarads

Have you tried contacting them? I think giving the Kickstarters their rewards is probably the last thing on their minds right now.

Glad you like it, especially because you're a Kickstarter backer. Still easy to find games?

    Reaction on Wartide 2.0 post

From the Wartide 2.0 post: "This is a temporary measure until we’re ready to relaunch a brand new ranked playlist through our huge competitive matchmaking upgrade later in the year (which we will release more info on at a later date. This decision was also made as we feel the ranked experience of Battalion 1944 wasn’t to the standard we ourselves would’ve liked it to be in, let alone our players. " The way I understand it is that they're going to retire the current 'Ranked' and (hopefully) replace it with a better version.

    Reaction on Wartide 2.0 post

Am I the only one who understands their decision to drop Ranked for now? The 24-hour playercount peak is now between 200 and 300. Worldwide(!!!!). You can't merge different regions like NA and Europe. But you can merge different gamemodes. The small playerbase was already divided between Arcade, Ranked and Unranked. With only Arcade and Wartide left it's easier for the few remaining players to find a match. In my opinion it's the best solution in a shitty situation.

Moving Foward (reddit post) and comment

Well, they listened to our feedback. That's a first step. They posted an update on the official forum. I still hope Battalion will become a success with the right changes. I haven't waited for two years for the game to become a complete failure. But unlike Reddit, I first have to see it to believe it.

That's what Early Access is for. Letting people play the game, see where they fucked up and try to improve those aspects. Important for everyone here: Tuna posted an update about Wartide 2.0

They are just quickly satisfied. They don't need proof to see the game has actually improved, but are happy with empty promises.

Moving Foward (reddit post) and comment

Another important factor is that their beloved eSports players are on Reddit. We are 'merely' casuals and backers. We are the other half according to @[CM] BigTuna . We don't matter to Bulkhead Interactive. Oh wait, the backers did matter, back when they needed their money. Now that the people can't get their money back, Bulkhead can show them the middle finger and can continue to satisfy the needs of the former COD4 'pro's'. By the way, I'm fully aware I come across like a complete asshole in this post. But sadly the only times someone from Bulkhead seems to respond is to someone who acts like a dickhead and not to people who try to have a civil discussion. On a more serious note: BigTuna, I understand it's impossible for you to respond to everyone. But is it really that much trouble to copy, paste and post this update on your own official forum?

You mean the Reddit post by Big_Tuna? I know the name 'official forum' might be misleading, but don't expect any news from the official team behind Battalion here. Sad but true. No wonder this forum is nearly abandoned.

    Strafe jump poll

There is a wallhack bug in Battalion. If you join spectator first, than a team and press a certain button(something like this), you can see through walls. The best thing about it? It will be fixed in June/July.

I still hope this game will succeed, but more WW2 FPS are coming. Battlefield, Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose.
  16. Grasshopper

    xD

In a certain way it does matter. They need people to play the game, give feedback and in that way they can improve Battalion for full release.

And don't forget about Hell Let Loose and Post Scriptum. Both WW2 games. Find this depressing? Then avoid Reddit.

The developers seem to wake up, sort of. Joe Brammer apologized in a post on Reddit for neglecting the casual playerbase. The biggest problem for Bulkhead right now is that the next patch won't be released until July. Apparently this includes minor changes like buffing the Bar. I don't know if the playerbase are willing to wait that long.

It's weird that Lawbreakers has so many positive reviews, but the game has so few players. Did anyone else notice that Battalion's 24 hour peak has sunk below 300 players? I wonder how low the playercount will go.

Games not yet dead guys.. Let's talk about it!

I'm aware that the playerbase is on a steady decline. and I highly doubt this game will ever be a big hit. But I first want to give them a chance to use all their resources to lure in new players and if that fails I will call it a dead game.

The forum seems to be pretty dead by now, but Battalion isn't. I'm really curious what will happen upon full release.

And the game was extremely cheap for non-backers. In hindsight I'm so glad I didn't back this game. I enjoyed playing it from time to time, but nothing more than that. In June, or maybe earlier, I will give it another go. And obviously after the full release. I will however keep following Battalion 1944. Really curious where this game is heading.

It's their forum. They could ban them if they want. What the community manager said was that they already got a community on here and now want to try and create a community on Reddit.

Games not yet dead guys.. Let's talk about it!

I wish it was that simple, but the sad reality is that more than 16.000 people tried the game and most of them left. During peak hour only 366 people play. So I think it's a bit easy to blame everything on negative comments. Hopefully Bulkhead learns from the constructive feedback and turns the tide around.

Kickstarter but no PS4 game key

So you got the game for PC, but what you wanted was a PS4 version? I don't think Bulkhead can help you right now. There is no Battalion on PS4 right now. I don't even know if the console version is in development right now. Or if it will take two or three more years. So they won't be able to give you a code.
