There are good things to come but I m shocked by THIS : @[CM] BigTuna : "The fact that you're here right now reading this lengthy update during this rocky Early Access period, still playing the game and adding positive and constructive discussion on our Reddit/Discord community is a testament to the better half of Battalion 1944’s community as a whole. " It is a lack of respect for Forum's users here since the beginning or later, supporting your work, still playing the game and trying to keep constructive discussions and clean forum. You have totally given up the forum and you are neglecting the other half of Battalion1944's community (which is the worst if i understand well !) You should close this forum. Things will be clearest.

The new big event with the ''huge'' price pool tells us that nothing has changed regarding bulkhead since the 400 of the 500 daily players quit including me. I think most of those 400 kept faith for a long time. But the event and not returning to the forums and or making a big statement that they we're wrong, basically because of that I lost my last % of faith for now. But ye i will still follow the game a bit, maybe this moment ever comes but I don't think so. Defending the game after everything that happened and looking at everything they are doing now doesn't seem right to me anymore. The only thing that would be right is making an excuse, because me and a lot of others have paid 65 euro or even more for this game. These are not the people on reddit these are the people who we're here from the start and have helped testing from the starting... Even bought a pc again for this game, it's such a shame it didn't turn out as the kickstarter stated.

In a game like this, an active community and player base is everything without that there is no game, I get the feeling that the devs released the game because they needed more funding but after the huge failed release day with many refunds they then concentrated their efforts on trying to get sponsors through the competition side to aid their funding even more If this is what the devs are focusing on, then it is at great cost to the game because even if they get the funding, without a player base the game if dead in the water anyway and the only guys that get anything out of it are the devs prolonged wages perhaps, A dead game in general very rarely makes a come back from this sort of disaster and when certain devs show themselves to be very arrogant and don't even post on their own forums then there is even less chance of any comeback no matter how good an update they bring out in the future, this and the fact that the devs fail to acknowledge or agree on the fans dislike of many aspects of the gameplay It's a shame because it could have been so so good

my concern at this point is Battalion 1944 has now been overtaken by an avalanche of games and the disappointing thing is Bulkhead knew these games were coming but have been unable to move fast enough to stay ahead of them. Insurgency Sandstorm, BF5, Post Scriptum, Hell Let Loose are all turning the attention of players away from this game because development slowed to a crawl and Bulkhead have scattered what's left of the player base to all corners of the internet by abandoning their own forum which they have always maintained they have not but if the users believe that then perception is reality without evidence to the contrary. i still have every confidence that Bulkhead will fix the game but i fear it's at least 3 months too late to re-establish the games viability.

Savoia examined & Updated weapon physics 1 JUNE - BIG TUNA Introducing Savoia and more! Some of you may have seen our previous update announcing our newest map - Savoia - coming to Battalion in June within our Major Update 2 Beta Testing Phase. Today we’re happy to show a little more of this map to you guys as well as some other stuff so we hope you enjoy! This map is a lot more open than previous maps as we have tried to move slightly away from our previous map design policy’s which retrospectively are too much like CSGO with tight chokes and close entries into the bomb sites. Savoia contains long streets and a lot more verticality as well as a ton of potential for close combat with many enterable buildings and tighter areas around the bombs sites. We hope you enjoy the new colour palette in this map too as it adds a Mediterranean feel to Battalion and could be a little more enjoyable than Northern European theatre we have previously used. Consistent Weapon Physics After Death' Whilst this feature is alot smaller than some of the other gigantic changes coming to Major Update 2 - this small change will please all players who have ever experienced the ‘where did his weapon go?’ feeling after killing an enemy player and wanting to take their weapon. Weapons will now drop at the exact point you kill a player. Falling weapons no longer fall with the momentum of the dead enemies ragdoll, but will instead drop directly to the floor. This small change brings much more reliability to the game and no more ‘bouncing’ weapons. This is an important fix for Wartide 2 where carrying weapons over to the next round and have the choice to save weapons is an important part of competitive play now. YouTube™ Video: Dead Weapon Drop Example Views: 3 All this and more will be available in our live version of Major Update 2 on July 12th. Thanks for tuning in and see you all soon The Bulkhead Team

My poll shows that many players do prefer no hopping and no strafe-jumping. http://forums.battaliongame.com/topic/9243-strafe-jump-poll/

lol The top and bottom of it is this ...nobody plays the game mainly because of the quick scoping bunny hopping ..you can kid your self all day long but this game will not progress unless they remove these aspects of the game Yes this is just my feeling, but I have seen many others on many other forums say just the same and the proof in the pudding is that nobody plays the dam game and it's probably not because of any other reason, I for one would still be playing the game if those aspects were not in game and I can promise you that many many others would say the same and outway any other players that say that they did like it .... I have no proof but then I don't need it because nobody plays the game anymore and that to me tells me everything

Wartide 2.0 - Major Update #2 (June) Wartide 2.0 is coming! You as a community have spoken and we’ve listened to all your feedback about the original Wartide gamemode. We’ve taken that feedback onboard and have acted on it by creating an entirely revamped version of the gamemode we’re calling internally ‘Wartide 2.0’. This re-engineered competitive mode will replace the current competitive gamemode - “Wartide” and will be released within our Major Update #2 coming in June, so get ready! The largest concerns with the original Wartide were: No win / loss bonuses meant steamrolling became very likely. Having the losing team being forced repeatedly to play default class round after round when losing, wasn’t a fun experience and players would often leave rather than persist. The original Wartide system lacked depth to its weapons economy therefore all weapons were forced to be balanced and as viable as each other in terms of perceived value. Wartide 2.0 intends to address these issues by adding an actual economy system which is shared entirely between your team. The brand new Wartide 2.0 Tokens, which drop when a player gets fragged. (Only one token is ever dropped, even if the weapon’s value is higher than one token!) Footage of the new Token dropping from a fragged enemy in Wartide 2.0 Teams will start with a set amount of tokens that will deplete as the players on a team pick weapons from the shared buy menu, these weapons all have varying costs based on their effectiveness. For example - The extremely powerful one shot snipers cost more than cheaper weapons such as the shotgun and the two brand new "eco" weapons we’re adding to the game! In this new system the much loved default carbine classes will be free so have fun with those. Players gain more tokens throughout the match. Important actions within a Wartide 2.0 game will result in rewarding players and, in turn, their team with additional tokens. This includes actions such as: Planting / defusing the bomb Consecutive round wins / losses Picking up tokens from dead players We’ve had a couple of early external tests with top level teams from within the competitive scene to test the new format (without user interface). We’re currently working with a different UI designer to revamp the Wartide 2.0 user interface to communicate this new gameplay as simply as possible for new players and spectators. This is a work in progress and not totally finished. Some UI weapon images are placeholders and subject to change We intend to carry out more external tests with top tier players as we move toward polishing Wartide 2.0 before public release in June. We feel these changes counter some of the issues that were raised about our original Wartide gamemode and we are really interested to see what you all think and as always we are keen for constructive feedback. Introducing ‘Wartide’ Matchmaking Option & Retiring Unranked/Ranked Playlists - Estimated Major Update #2 We fully understand that with lower concurrent player numbers, new and less informed players are finding it difficult to find other players to play with unless its during peak times. One of the ways we are going to help alleviate this issue is by removing both ‘unranked’ and ‘ranked’ playlist and merging them into one and the same under the menu option ‘Wartide’. This means players will all be searching under one playlist - instead of being split between 2, helping players who want to find matches in the new Wartide 2.0 gamemode. The new Wartide will function the same as the previous unranked playlist. This is a temporary measure until we’re ready to relaunch a brand new ranked playlist through our huge competitive matchmaking upgrade later in the year (which we will release more info on at a later date. This decision was also made as we feel the ranked experience of Battalion 1944 wasn’t to the standard we ourselves would’ve liked it to be in, let alone our players. More on this below. Competitive Matchmaking Upgrade - Estimated Major Update #4 The current ranked matchmaking user experience is not good enough - to the point where we’re hearing players would rather play unranked than ranked. Instead of bashing away at improving a system that isn’t working - we have been talking to a very popular third party service provider who loves Battalion 1944 to implement their widely loved and accepted matchmaking system directly into the game… whilst we’re hoping players aren't too upset by the closure of our own competitive mode - we’re hoping you’ll be able to face it for now as we have a great 3rd party replacement in the works that will be integrated into the game itself. This will come with a reliable ELO system that tracks your progress, general stat tracking, match history and all the other good stuff that player expect from a top tier competitive experience. This is only the beginning for this feature, as we’ve always wanted a way for 5 man teams to stack up against each other within the game. More info on this will be announced closer to the release time whilst we work out the finer details of the system in the meantime. Another Development Update Next Week! In keeping with our renewed plan from last week’s ‘moving forwards’ news update (which you can read by clicking here), we’ll be releasing another development update next week with more behind the scenes looks at the development progress of Battalion 1944’s new upcoming features. Thanks for the continued support, See you next week! Tuna and the Bulkhead team

I don't really see why the last topic was closed. People reminding how much players are currently playing are just a small percentage of the total topic. Maybe ban them for some time if u don't like em to remind you all the time. Like 90% of the posts are people that are still trying to help this game and because of that give their oppinions. The title brougt life to the topic and I think it's good to have topics that trigger people to read it. Since there wasn't as much activity anymore since early access started. So i hope you don't mind that i created this topic so we can move on discussing the current state of the game and i hope you get some vulnerable info out of it.

When are the rewards actually getting deliverd since it's been over a year since they promised the delivery

Tonight I decided to give Battalion 1944 one last try. But even that was fruitless, there were a number of players on "locked" servers and the odd one on the unlocked ones so even if I wanted to play it was a waste of time. Good luck with the game but I am uninstalling. Bye bye!

THANK YOU SO MUCH DEVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just saw it on steam! I'm super pumped!
  14. 3 points
Well the people in my steam list basically all quit because of the bullshit, and then i mean the not possible parts of the game. When it's really skillful then it's something but how it is build every noob can make these stupid jumpshots that we're described as super skillful. I know they don't care about my friendslist but they are the same amount of 25% of the max players now everyday. Furthermore it's not proven because they never did research about it. Still we have the fact that basically everyone left. And they didn't go because the graphics we're bad or a gun was not properly balanced. But ye we can stop this discussion, because basically im pretty sure that after the june like max 1200 players are back on day 1 and in the weeks after the player count will probally drop again. I can not predict the future, but the odds are bad. And ofcourse they made changes at alpha and before that. Basically they we're doing a really good job untill they started discussions on twitter and these forums, which wasn't really professional in any way. And after early access they we're gone, a lot of people had concerns and there we're a lot of good points in a topic before this one, the game is dead, perhaps u remember, but that topic was closed because like 2 or 3 people stated the player count at that stage. There are some people on these forums with like -75 points for a reason, perhaps they even had more love for this game then the so called pro's who are currently playing and competing Battalion 1944.

Why would shroud like this game better then the current games he plays. I don't really believe it unless he gets more money for it. Like i stated before let's see what happens in June. At this stage there is just no reason to be really hyped anymore. I'm not saying it can never happen again. Maybe there is not one best direction. For battalion the best direction is creating the game for the masses. And then not like cod but basically they had a lot of interest for what they promised at the beginning. That was already a mass and they could grow from there. My point is I’m not really sure if they listen, they just have the same game and are moving forward on this concept. For example I still think there we’re more people who wanted bunny hopping/scoped jumping out of the game then people who didn’t. They kept it, and I guess they will nerve it a bit now but isn’t it to late perhaps. They could have done a survey or even a better market research on how to make the game better to keep the most people into the game. For me personally I would like to see something like cod 1, but even when it would be more like cod 2 I could live with it, because it has a lot similarities We can not deny that the games kickstarter basically fully focused on cod 2 and what we got was cod 4 + quake but then worse. My frustration is big I did my first kickstarter, because everything sounded so right. But it didn’t turn out that way so far and that’s a shame.

Cant take this company serious anymore. I feel like i was tricked into buying this game and did not recieve product as promised... Whatewer that devs are trying to do it is to late for that now. Seems like they are so arrogant , blind and irresponsible I have that feelingn that they abandoned this forum because they can not take criticsm at all instead they are posting to reddit to their pets and wannabe b44 pros. I am not mad beacuse i payed for the game and it turned out to be a total disaster i am mad couse the game had potential and got completely ruined. Yet there is this also My team organised lan tournamennt here in Karlovac Croatia 32+ teams from whole Europe showed interest and signed up to participate. 1st place:4000€ + trophy and medals 2nd place:2000€ + medals 3rd place :1000€ + medals Food hotels and motels are cheap here in Croatia like 10-15 euros per night. Also having some great night out in local pubs is also cheap beer is like 2 euros. We had everythinng sposnsors good gaming pcs lots of space tournament was supposed to be at big shopping center. Interested team had 45+ days to pay to participate none of them have payed and we have canceled the tournament. cant blame interested teams who would play game on lan that was barely playable from home on pc due to many crashes and bugs. this was not just one case there were many other Eu tournaments that got canceled. Yet devs were not tracking that issue how could they after all when they have abanoned their own forum hahaha. Yet they have announced major lan tournament The Insomnia62 in UK England one of the most expensive countries in the world with a prize pool of 10k. Who would participate in it when there is no any official B44 team ranking? This game is going to die i mean it already is thanks devs Poor buisnees choices got it where they are today. i am not hater of this game or devs at all i supported it from the very beggining of the game even have spend 50 euros on loot boxes to help the devs because i liked the idea back than but this now is just killing it. Console annoucment said it all...

What is it people who make games like this are thinking? There is a poll, strafe/jump, it comes out, for jumping 39.5 against jumping 60.47. the 39.5 win the 60.47 leave permanently, who's won. Maybe if the jumping/hopping/strafe thing had been removed the game may have still been a viable option. but never mind, should have kept my £10 in my wallet.

Driving the game to the wall is an impressive Achievement. In my opinion, in doing so, vanity and not inability have played a major role. A good base would still be available. A couple of well-intentioned suggestions for improvement: - The game should not be played like hardcore mode. The fun increases very strongly when more and more lasting duels arise. Shooting back and forth is more gripping than a quick kill. - This ' hopping ' in all its forms is the main reason why the interested people reject the game. No one needs a round-the-corner-bouncing soldier that can't be hit or very hard. Likewise, no one needs this whole "strafe jumping" stuff to get to special positions. The basic idea should be followed that a duel always runs without any Advantages. Also for people who do not want to deal with everything you can climb. - This certainly includes a revised Hitbox - Several windows and paths would make the whole thing a bit far more unpredictable and longer interesting. Personally, I don't think the developers will listen to the right voices anymore. In spite of everything, I wanted to try to help again with these proposals. In short, if you change the game like COD1/2 You have the possibility to access a large player base which is still not operated by the market. We are talking about a cod 1/2 player base which has originally put great hopes into the game and has given a successful start. Changing the game like COD1/2 is the only way to save the project yet.

A few of us were really looking forward to this game going back to ww2 cod/cod2 styles, and for two long years we waited watched every trailer, read every post and thought how great it was to have this type of game back, with leagues and clans, and all the communities getting together to play each other on their own servers just like the old days used to be AND THEN THIS .....THE DISAPPOINTMENT IS BOUNDLESS

Why and how do you know there's no coming back possible? It's not going to be an easy task, though, that doesn't necessarily make it an impossible one. What is your expertise in this regard, what are the references you base that on? Or maybe, do you have a crystal ball telling you the future? Seriously, back up such general statements please, as you are obliged to explain yourself as anyone else is. I'm sick and tired of this BS... I'd agree that the way of dealing with troublesome ongoings in the public wasn't exactly how I expect professionals to handle things, to begin with. I wouldn't agree to call it 'arrogant', though. But then, I'm so far away from so-called social media I don't really understand how this kind of customer relations are supposed to work these days. By the end of the day, I rather witness an honest meltdown with lots of anger thrown at me in an act of emotional cleansing, than swallowing those staged excuses of oh so costumer-friendly triple-A-cooperations. Anyway, what really is the point you are trying to make here? I have to agree to some extent, as I too find myself scratching my head in disbelief when yet another event is being announced, while the game is still under construction. I'm not sure how much resources Bulkhead really spends on this stuff, as this seems to be your underlying concern here I guess, but it looks like there is an interest by hosts and teams to organize and take part in such events and the bulk of the work is carried by those third-party people. At least I hope so. The point is, do you really want Bulkhead rejecting this interest in the game, telling those enthusiasts they have to wait another 2-3 years before they can grow the competitive scene, which basically these people are already right now? Again, I somewhat agree it's sort of building the roof first, but maybe it is not that easy of a case. Staying with that picture, this house they are trying to build is a competitive shooter and 'competition' probably is the grout that house has to be built with and sure you can not add this later on. Therefore, as much as I share the skepticism regarding their engagement towards LANs, I am not convinced it is indeed working against the goal of making the game a success. Yes, whoever builds a house, cannot start building the roof. However, as I tried to point out in the upper paragraph, maybe this is not even a case of a roof-first-attempt, to begin with. Additionally, you imply both companies could do equally well by basically ignoring the competitive potential of one of their games for 2 - 3 years after release. Well, I would say it is more of a risky approach for a smaller entity like Bulkhead, which is dependent almost exclusively on that one game, while having less capital to carry them over that time, compared to a well-established studio with several well-established IPs, which allow for cross-financing and keep the business a-running in the meantime. Look, I believe we got to give some extra patience and some extra goodwill to indie companies these days, as the big players don't give a hoot about the niche-customers anymore. Everybody is bound to make mistakes and nobody who is responsible for running a company is obliged to take advice from faceless randoms on the internet, like you or me. If you don't trust their intentions and abilities and rather stay away for now, OK, that's fine. There've been more than enough shitty scams going on in the indie scene, so I won't blame anyone being pissed right now. However, when putting some more effort into researching the studio and keeping up with the current development than spreading assumptions and accusations, maybe you'll get more out of it in the end.

You cant come back from this: https://steamcharts.com/app/489940 Meanwhile the devs are being arrogant (they have been since the start) to the critics on social media and planning competitive events that nobody watch. Look at Rainbow Six, thay have built a consistent player base and 2-3 YEARS AFTER THE RELEASE is when the competitive scene started to grow. When you build a house you start by the bottom, not by the roof. And that has nothing to do with being Bulkhead or Ubisoft.

Introducing BattleRank & Wartide 2 Changes! Major Update 2 Preview 22 MAY - BIG TUNA Introducing BattleRank Beta 2018 - Major Update 2 (June) When looking at the list of issues with the Early Access launch version of Battalion, at the top of the list was giving reasons for players to keep playing whilst rewarding those who do keep booting up and playing for their efforts. We had these kind of changes down to be worked on ready for Major Update 3 - but we’ve decided to run a small ‘betaseason’ of our new leveling system within Major Update 2 called ‘BattleRank’. BattleRank Beta Season 2018 is the first step towards making Battalion the engaging and rewarding game it was always intended to become. With every BattleRank season (roughly every 3 months) will come new exclusive rewards and weapon skins that can only be acquired during that period. BattleRank is a system designed to reward you for playing Battalion 1944 - due to this all players XP will need to be reset to make way for this new era of BattleRank. Every player who boots the game during the very first beta season (seasons will last roughly 3 months) will receive a participant coin and a participant weapon skin as thanks for checking out the changes to the game for that season. Players who stick around however, get the chance to ‘level up’ their BattleRank to higher tiers. This is done by gaining experience point (XP) by playing the game and completing matches. In the 2018 Beta Season of BattleRank, every 10 levels will reward you with a new & exclusive weapon skin that can be sold or traded on the community market. Also, every single level up will upgrade your publicly displayed BattleRank icon and also reward you with a free War Chest! Reaching the Diamond Tier and max rank (Lvl 50+) will reward you with the ‘Beta 2018 Completionist Coin’ and a season exclusive animated weapon skin that you can only obtain during this BattleRank Beta season. We will reveal these awesome skins closer to the release of Major Update 2! This season of BattleRank is named the Beta season as we want to recieve feedback on the system and see how we can improve upon it for future seasons. Introducing ‘Aces High’ War Chest - Major Update 2 (June) Along with BattleRank - we’re adding a brand new War Chest! Say hello to the brand new 'Aces High' War Chest: This War Chest comes with 20 brand new weapon skins based on WW2 warplanes from the era. We can’t wait to show off the full set when we get closer to Major Update 2! Players will be able to unlock an ‘Aces High’ War Chest every time they level up via BattleRank. Introducing ‘The Chompson’ Exclusive to The ‘Aces High’ War Chest Important: The ‘Aces High’ War Chest will replace the previous ‘The Original’ War Chest. If you’re missing any of ‘The Original’ War Chest skins such as the coveted ‘Grand Panther’ skin, these last few weeks before Major Update 2 will be your last opportunity to unlock these original Early Access era weapon skins. Maybe it's worth holding onto them to see if they increase in market value? Wartide 2.0 - Major Update 2 (June) Our daily development playtests have been really helping us refine the game before the release of Major Update 2 and Wartide 2 is the area of the game that has seen the most iteration from these playtests. The specific focus of MU2 has always been to refine Wartide into a truly competitive gamemode that’s both fun to both play and watch for casual and competitive players alike. However, since we added the concept of a personal wallet, we noticed the redundancy of having a shared economy pool. While cool in theory, - when playing we realised the only reason it had to exist was so that we could distribute money to players fairly, by allowing players to withdraw/deposit to the team pool as needed. The reality was it became just a race to withdraw 3 coins first - whilst actual sharing of money was done through the individual player wallet donation buttons. This made the dual currency system not only redundant - but also confusing with so much information to share between players within the 18 second buy time. Changes: The single largest key change to Wartide 2.0 from our playtests is: The removal of the shared token pool and replaced by personal wallets & direct teammate player donations only. We have decided to remove the shared currency pool where all tokens earned through in game actions were merged into one central pool. This was a system where all players could donate their personal tokens into the team pool, however they could also extract tokens from this pool to their personal wallet. We have decided to move away from this system and have introduced one where the only pool is personal and the only donations you are able to give are to other team members. By only having your own personal wallet of tokens to worry about - the gamemode is now much simpler and allows you to quickly and efficiently share cash between your teammates whilst still allowing more selfish players to hold onto their own tokens. We’re very happy with this iteration of Wartide and are very confident in this being the extremely solid foundations for the gamemode going forwards. Strategy and teamplay have never felt stronger in any iteration of Battalion 1944 than the current development build. Any changes to the mode from now on will most likely just be adjustments in weapon costs and/or reward amounts for winning/losing rounds. Wartide 2.0 - Knife Rounds The classic way to decide which team gets to choose which faction to play first has been officially added to the game. Server owners and tournament organisers will no longer have to restart servers with their own configs or trust players to not shoot one another Here’s a question for the community - would you like knife rounds to be included on official Bulkhead unranked matchmaking servers? Or should this feature only be a server config variable for community server admins? Let us know in the comments! Wartide 2.0 - Overtime We’ve now added an official overtime server config variable so that competitive players get to play multiple mr3 overtimes until one team is victorious. This avoids scenarios in tournament play where team would draw 15-15 and have to completely restart the game server. Misc Extra Additions Adding an Ambient Sound Slider You can now adjust the volume of the ambient map sounds separately from the other audio in the game through the ingame menus. You cannot turn the ambience entirely off - but this should reduce audio clutter for competitive players whilst keeping the playing field level and fair. New HD Renderer You may have noticed the visual upgrade Battalion has received? If not here’s a quick reminder: This is to do with us constantly working on improving the visual direction of the game from characters to environments to user interface - but also due to our new HD renderer which gives us way more post processing options to play with. The great thing about this is that we’ve also made it so that players themselves can tweak individual settings themselves - such as bloom/lens flare/brightness and even hue/saturation etc We’ve actually added a quick option in the video settings so that players can quickly optimise their video settings between beauty and performance presets just in case you destroy your default config! Wrapping Up That’s it for today’s development update and preview - we have more awesome Battalion 1944 news and announcements to come and we can’t wait to share it. Keep a lookout for another huge announcement coming later this week! Thanks, The Bullkhead Interactive Team
